Summation Bug? FW 2017 07 10 (12066)
Hi Everyone,
Today I entered a summation in CAS / Textbook Mode using an upper-case 'X' as the variable instead of the lower-case 'x' that CAS prefers. When I hit enter to evaluate it, the calculator crashed and rebooted itself. I would love if someone could please check and see if this is just my calculator that has an issue or if it's a more general bug. I have the Rev C hardware in case that matters. :-) -- In CAS textbook mode, try entering a summation of (1/X^2) with an index of 1 going to infinity. Use an upper-case X as the variable in the expression (ANY upper-case variable causes this for me). When I hit enter to evaluate this, my calculator screen goes black, then reboots. ![]() Even if I'm doing something that isn't 'allowed' or 'correct' by the calculator's nomenclature, it surely should never simply crash like that, should it? Can anyone else reproduce this? I did a full factory reset from the diagnostic menu and still find the same behavior. Thanks in advance, Eric |

Fixed in source code.
There was an infinite loop trying to purge X in a residue computation. |
