Any other language? In Dutch, ‘leedvermaak’ has the exact same meaning.

Cheers, Werner

škodolibost in Czech and škodoradosť in Slovak :-)

BTW, I work in the same city where Moravia resides. Yet I couldn’t resist (how could I, it’s a Voyager, right?) and pre-ordered from José…

Based on Gene's testing, it seems that the 15 CE is about 9% faster than the 15 LE.

Gloating.

To exhibit a conspicuous (sometimes malevolent) pleasure or sense of self-satisfaction, often at an adversary's misfortune.

There is also “epicaricacy”.

Well, I preordered two of them (no shipping cost to Belgium via eduwinkel.nl).
A reissue of the 42S would be nice, but also lusting after a 16C reissue. Concerning reissues, I prefer that look and feel are as close as possible to the original.

The 15c CE is indeed exactly the same shape/size/layout, etc. as the original 15C. How could a re-issue be different, that would not be the same machine?

Everyone is free to like and wish for what they want of course, but in this case, I think yours might be the only vote for a 15C re-issue in a different form factor.

What would you change?

Hi!

On my HP 15C LE, the "f" and "g" buttons moves free left, right, up and down.
Do you think this will be correct on the new HP 15 C CE?

I think HKG meant "Hope the Collector Edition is not limited to form factor of Voyager", i.e. that there might be "Collector Editions" of other form-factors, like the Pioneers, Coconut or maybe even Spice ... Wink

Nudge, nudge, hint, hint ...

This one doesn't show up in Merriam-Webster's. Indeed it is listed as a rare word in Wiktionary:

Quote:Noun

epicaricacy (uncountable)
  1. (rare) Rejoicing at or deriving pleasure from the misfortunes of others.

Anyway, like gloating (the most recent word in my English vocabulary — thanks, Valentín!) it does translate "Schadenfreude" in a single word. So do the aforementioned examples in various languages. The text I read included Danish "Ølfrygt" and Portuguese "saudade" among others. I might be wrong when I said these wouldn't tranlate in any language, perhaps the text said these were just difficult to translate in many languages.

I don't know any equivalent to "Shadenfreude" in Portuguese, though. In fact, I've seen it in print in the original German, especially during the two latest Word Cups when Germany was playing, no matter the opponent (I don't know the reason why :-). But Brazilians are lazy to translate foreign words, only adapting them to local phonology. Not long ago, "printar" (to print) was quite common instead of "imprimir", in information technology, but fortunately it seems to be disappearing. In soccer, more than a century later, genuine Portuguese words have replaced most of the original English terminology, but "penalty" is still used, sometimes written "pênalty" or "pênalti" and no better word than "gol" has been found for "goal".

Gerson.

After some disappointing experience with the keyboards of SM's voyager clones I'm really glad for the opportunity to purchase "the real thing". If the keyboard is as good as in the newer 12C that would be great.

Ah, I didn't see that possible meaning when I read that, but now I do (with your help Wink ); sorry for missing that.

A Pioneer would seem feasible, since the 17bII+ is still being made, so the chassis/keyboard/LCD are available, meaning "only" the firmware (and new labels) would need to be made.

But I doubt we will ever see a 41 Collector's Edition, it would require a complete system design from scratch. Knowing this will never come is one of the reasons SM created the DM41X - to give 41 fans a modern device, with large LCD, faster, full RAM and a USB port, to easily check out and use the hundreds of ROMs that we all wanted to try for all those years.

RE: NEW: HP 15C Collectors Edition
Saw Eddie Shore's blog post before this thread and have ordered one from Spain -- shipping to Australia is also 37.50, but at this point who cares. Fantastic news. (I bought one of the re-released 15C's 12 years ago as well as a DM15 (the small size) and still have the latter, but sold the former and made about $100 on it, but have regretted that decision.) So pleased for a "second chance" and this time it'll be a keeper -- the DM15 is nice and has a lot more memory, but the keys are a mite too fiddly for everyday use.
