I bought an extra 991EX and will keepit sealed in the box in case Casio never redeem themselves. I'm seriously hoping they will release a 991EX v2 in the future.

As for the OP question, just stick to the 991EX, it's still the best option for the price.

I agree. The mystery for me: Why change the well-established STO/RCL method? Maybe I should call The History Channel to suggest that there should be an episode about this on History’s Greatest Mysteries.
