LaTeX turned off?
Is anyone else not seeing the math type? Or is it just me?

Testing: \[ x^2 \]

Everything is working fine, including your example. Be sure that Javascript is enabled.

No, unfortunately not, and it's not the first time it doesn't work.

I'm on FF 31.0 with one update to go. Maybe this is the problem?

Edith says: No, doesn't work on IE either.

Nor Opera, Chrome, or Safari. Something is rotten in Denmark.

RE: LaTeX turned off?
From Changes to the MathJax CDN:
Quote:Important changes for SSL users

The MathJax CDN now provides SSL access at cdn.mathjax.org.

NOTE: The direct Rackspace address will be retired on July 31, 2014.

If you have been using the address

https://c328740.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/

you should switch to

https://cdn.mathjax.org/

Cheers
Thomas

Does this mean that the forum needs to update its links? Or is this something I now have to do on my end?

Yes. Or Dave can install MathJax to make it independent of the availability of others hosts.
cf. Obtaining MathJax via an archive

No. I'm afraid we'll have to wait until it's fixed.

Thanks, Dave! Works great again! \(x =\begin{cases}a & x = 0\\b & x > 0\end{cases}\)
