That's what I hope, too!

I hoping for a DM41P at the same price of CHF129 at which the existing DM41L is sold.
But I'm also intending to buy Hewlett Packard's super-top-secret new release of their own re-born HP42s to be released in the first quarter of 2018 for $129.95 (with free delivery) and manufactured in China under contract to Kinpo Electronics like several of HP's other calculator models.

If HP does come out with a new 42, I hope it is not buggy like the 15C Limited Edition is...

The myriad of bugging devices & spy cameras that were secretly installed at the HHC 2017 conference to counter the secret meetings held under the dome of silence about Hewlett Packard's new release of the HP42s has revealed that Hewlett Packard will be using Free42 to save on development costs & reduce the likelihood of quality control issues.

Let us for the sake of peace put it this way: The DM42 hardware begs to be used for other RPN purposes.

Anyway, we all agree it is really an interesting moment in SM's portfolio.
My guess is a DM42L seems now closer for the happiness of landscapers... and the horror of portraiturists.
Besides DM42L, SM's next model might be:
a new collector's delight with FOCAL on steroids (aka "nihil novum sub sole")
or a truly 21st century calc... newRPL?WP43? MicroPython? CAS? BLE? (aka "audaces fortuna iuvat")
These are the times we live in.
Ummmm, I was about to miss some Latin... like... say... "si bonam conscientiam haberes, non multum RPL timeres" ;0)
