HP35s production in 2024
My HP reseller had a 4 x HP35s left in stock and I bought one to replace a dead HP32SII I can no longer use.

Yesterday I decided to buy another HP35s - but missed the boat, they are all gone.

However they responded
"These are now out of production until mid 2024 when they are expected to be re-released globally."
Not sure if this is old news but couldn't find any references to it so posted it here FYI

Seems unlikely as Moravia has confirmed, more than once, that the 35S is discontinued, not to come back. But I guess we'll see for sure in about a year.

In any case, it's an odd thing for a reseller to say, one would expect them to to try to sell something they actually have available.

I want to believe that was a leak rather than a mistake.

RE: HP35s production in 2024
I have asked for more info that will require someone to check the veracity.
Eg Can I preorder, how reliable is the release date and if they have pricing.
Hopefully i’ll get an answer

If it is true, let's hope HP/Kinpo do it right this time.

delete bugs
add indirect addressing
swap wimpy LCD for a 'he man' electron guzzling LED strip.

Regardless, I'm sure it will be nowhere near the DM32 in capability or quality.

Do you mean in addition to the indirect addressing via (I) and (J) that it already has?

+ Allow composing a complex number in polar and rectangular from stack and decomposing to stack
+ Add R<>P

That would make the perfect scientific calculator.

RE: HP35s production in 2024
Ahh... yes the lack of stack based R<->P conversions. I had to write a program just to do that..
And yes orthogonal (true) indirect addressing where any register can reference any other. Heck, even the TI-59 had this in 1977.

Daily using HP 35S since 2007 and always hoping for a 35SII but I'm afraid it's too late for me: DM32 is an awesome machine.

RE: HP35s production in 2024
I’m inclined to think it’s true
Also got a second update on my 2 x HP15cce’s today as well - Shipment from China by ocean freight is in its way - another 3 weeks !

They replied to my questions - below

Hi …,

I haven’t set up a waiting list for 35’s as yet but I will do so.

At this stage I have no reason to doubt the timeline but like all distant projects the best of plans can sometimes vary.
Also I have no idea of price nor do I have any idea of further releases to add to the Collection

this was in response to my query

Hi . . . ,

Thanks for the good news.

Is it possible to place a preorder or register interest in the next batch of HP35s's ?

I was unaware of any new production of the HP35s in the news - so whilst that is absolutely fantastic news - how reliable is this next production ?

Is there any indication of price at this stage ?

Looking forward also to getting my 2 x HP15Cce's on backorder with you.

Do you know if there is going to be any other HP model re-releases ? I would certainly be interested in an HP42s or similar high end HP Scientific calculator

Cheers

. . .
