If you use "MODE MONO", you'll lose screen resolution. The MDA (Monochrome Display Adapter) defaults to 40 characters per line. So I'd recommend trying "MODE BW80".

This advice only works if the program doesn't automatically switch out of text mode into graphics mode on its own.

MODE MONO seems to be doing what I want, actually. At first, it switched to zoomed/low-res mode, but FN-Space switched back to 85x20. After that, DP displays in strictly black and white. If I use MODE BW80, it will still try to display in greyscales, and not particularly readable ones at that.

I think that solves the color issue, in any case. I'll just have to make a batch file to set MONO before launching DP. Thanks.
