thanks for the offer. No I'm not going to reverse my order. I'm well aware that those "home brew" systems may show difficulties. I'm glad that you strive to get everything resolved.
BTW your explanation of the key tests was very helpful. So what I saw, in addition to the frozen ATAN etc., was expected behaviour, thus no additional problem.

As previously stated I'm not in a hurry, so please take your time as necessary to test and relax
