In this case my preference would be split in two spiral bound. Presumably the ~£16 is in lieu of the original £10?

Yep, £16 would be the new overall cost.

I think splitting is the way to go. Being able to open the manuals flat is invaluable. Once I've heard back from the printers, I think I'll send out an e-mail to see if we have agreement on the new cost.
