You can also try the other method that is based on the number of days in the month preceding the one in the later date. In the example this would be May (the month before June). This approach can be implemented by replacing L(b) with L(e–1). Of course you have to make sure that e–1=0 is handled correctly. L(0) actually is L(12) = 31, the number of days in December.
