Perhaps the non-gradians model costs $100. Would you be willing to pay $5 more for gradians? $10? $25? $50? More?

My understanding is that GRAD was very meaningful for surveyors, to the point of being a must - but not being one myself I wouldn't know how much of a necessity vs. just convenience thing. Also surveyors probably don't qualify for your survey since they typically have a large budget.
