It's mandatory only on those functions that take a variable number of arguments. If a function always takes n arguments, then n need not be specified. It's kinda similar to RPL: DUP2 always takes 2 arguments, so you don't need to tell it to take 2 arguments. But DUPN takes n arguments, so you must specify n. In PPL, ABS always takes 1 argument, so you don't need to tell it to take 1 argument. But the MAX command can take many arguments, so MAX should be thought of as MAXN when you're in RPL mode, because you have to specify n. Hope that helps! <0|ΙΈ|0> -Joe- |
