A calculator is not able do do things like humans can, i.e. read "solutions" from a graph, the function y=0.2*x+0.61 is no tangent to the function y=ln(x).
A not too difficult calculation shows that x=5, then y=ln(5) and the equation of the tangent-line then is y=0.2*x+ln(5)-1. The latter rounded is 0.61, but exactly that makes the difference. Arno |
