I can honestly say that it does reduce my productivity. But as a software developer, my employer is already extracting 60 hours a week from me. I think it's the least they can do.

I have random coworkers I don't even know that drop by to see the "crazy guy with all the calculators."

In case anyone is concerned, I carry insurance to guard against theft. It took some effort to convince my insurance agent that all that old junk is actually quite valuable.
