As has been pointed out innumerable times in the past, the Prime is a continuation of the 38/39/40 series aimed at the educational market. Mostly the public school, K-12 market at that. Whereas the 50g, discontinued years ago, was the apotheosis of the scientific/professional market. That market is now dead, gone, expired, past tense. [Insert link to Monty Python dead parrot skit here] There will always be a small niche market for handheld scientific calculators (see SwissMicros) and those nostalgic for past Hewlett Packard products (see MoHPC).
