Yes, this is built-in from CAS, e.g exp([[1,2],[3,4]]) (exact) or exp([[1.,2.],[3.,4.]]) (approx). Exact will work only if eigenvalues can be computed symbolically, approx will not work if matrix is not diagonalizable.
