thanks EdS2. Yes, I've used that to reduce the filesize of jpg's by cropping, but it is still difficult to get the filesize down to under 500kb for an image that starts out at 3.4gb. The key was to capture the image on my camera at a lower quality setting, but then reset that camera setting for pictures I want prints of.
