Interesting article. There are 6 lists in that article, English is no. 1 in 5 of the 6 lists.
More importantly for internet forums is the list for Internet Languages:
1. English (27.3%)
2. Chinese (22.6%)
3. Spanish (7.8%)

i.e. on the internet English is 3.5x more prevalent than Spanish.
