Can you try one thing for me? Please open the battery case in the back (the two small screws), remove the battery and then put the battery back in. Leave the back cover off for a while during our test. Now try plugging in the calculator again and see if it charges. Leave it for at least 5 minutes and then remove the cable and see if it remains on. It will most likely report that your battery is low but not immediately power off.

If so, screw the battery cover back on, plug it in to charge for an hour or two and you should be good to go.
