I would have rather used such a variable.

What I then need is the <—max variable outside the IF... THEN... END structure.

But as the red «» are closed, the <—max after the END vanishes, creating logically an error, having finished its job, unless another program is called internally.
But putting <—max inside the red «» means that a lot will also have to be inside the red «».

Not that easy to solve properly — for me, at least.
