Why is x*sqrt(x) not x^(3/2)?

2*x*y+3*y-3*x instead of 2x.y+3y-3x

Since it uses PEMDAS rather than PEJMDAS, if they allowed you to forgo the * symbol, you'd REALLY be confused when you got the "wrong" answers!
