I have one. It's sort of a follow-up to the fx-4500P, and has a similar programming language (i.e. a bit different from the fx-4000P, which became the basis for the graphing calculators). You use = for assignment rather than the "STO" arrow, the calculator automatically prompts for undefined variables (use FixM and {} to alter this behavior), and it has a rudimentary if/then/else sort of structure.
The fx-4850P is basically an fx-4800P with more memory. 32 KB, I think? The fx-5800P is the current model in that line, but it has a programming language more like the fx-9860G line (which I prefer over the fx-4800P style). And I like the fx-5800P enough to have two of them - it's a great science-and-engineering calculator! |
