HP71B Integral Questions

I'm still wrapping my head around my very long-term misunderstanding of hp's implementation of the Romberg method. So how does this work to use trapezoids but not evaluate the endpoints? Do you just leave out the two outermost trapezoids?

(If I'm not mistaken, I think you can also reuse previous samples for midpoints if you trisect the intervals.)
