I tried this on the Panamatic HP65 emulator which is supposed to run the original firmware, and RCL-arithmetics do not work (as opposed to storage arithmetics). The museum's HP65 feature page confirms that only the latter is supported. So...?!?

Just to make sure what we're talking about:

Storage arithmetics:
4 STO 1
5 STO x 1 => 5
RCL 1 => 20

Recall arithmetics:
4 STO 1
5 RCL x 1 => 20
RCL 1 => 4
