I finished high school in 1998 in Greece and calculators were not allowed in any form. Nor slide-rulers which were not taught.
I had a calculator for use at home, i think it was a casio.
HP calculators were unknown to me, same TI.
I used the same calculator in uni and eventually went into programming on a computer instead of a calculator.
I only recently discovered the rich history of programmable calculators and i love it.
