Blessed are those engineers getting paid for single calculations instead of using tools doing many magnitudes more of them ;-).

Those older engineers that still use calculators instead of computers to solve problems and do design have a far better understanding of engineering and do a far better job. Sometimes less is more.

RE: Help me choose next calculator
Speaking of older. I did computing when the only calculators were the Friden 10-digit calculators (both hand-cranked and electric.) I was taught (in grad school when I first saw a computer) to run small cases on a calculator to understand all the steps. Then put the computation on a computer (different language and numerical properties) and see if the same results were obtained. Then run the big stuff.

I still do so only I've got an HP50g to replace the Friden.

But they won't because they want to sell calculators and they understand the biggest market for them is high school and college students.

My handy dandy FIF program for the RPL models does exactly what you want.

If they make a priority calculator, maybe they will be surprised.
