HP Prime Primer

Hi all,
In understanding the HP Prime, does this new model flow as a progression and/or upgrade from the 50G or is it an entirely different type of calculator? Is the Prime a model in the same class as the TI N-Spire or the TI-92? Is this HP's entry into the educational calculator market?
