old wine in new skins
Message #1 Posted by Mike (Stgt) on 26 Nov 2012, 9:33 a.m.

Michael Steinmann's Voyager revival drops the 10C. But the firmware files list a DM41CC_V10.hex - is that for next Xmas?

Ciao.....Mike

BTW - the clam shel like leather pouch looks good on the fotos.

Michael's slick, new website, http://www.swissmicros.com , is on-line as of today. He's got the Silver Edition DM-1X calculators available for order. Among the new features is an improved keyboard. Hoping maybe he'll jump in here and give us a little more info on what to expect with the revised keyboard. I'd definitely be interested in knowing what's changed with it.

I'd like to see a picture of the new font. Were the screw posts fixed so they don't fall out when removing the back cover? I'd be interested to hear how much the feel of the keyboard has improved.

Silver version would be available only in February 2013. Wonder if new extended storage may permit storing several firmwares and switching them on the fly.

I hope long-awaited DM-41C would come close.

Well, unless silver edition and silver version are two different things, that's how I understood it as well.

And thanks to Michael's very clever timing, I couldn't resist ordering one as a Christmas present for myself :) And one of those flip open pouches as well. I will report what it is like when I received it.

I wonder if the DM-15 firmware and the HP15c-LE firmware are close enough that a replacement for the LE can be crafted to fix the problems in the latter.

The LE's bugs are, if I understand correctly, in the emulation layer.

Has anybody tried to install this file on a real DM-1xCC hardware?

Do we have simulated DM-1xCC hardware already?!
