Question about magnetic cards for the HP-41C Card Reader
Message #1 Posted by Namir on 15 Aug 2012, 11:01 a.m.

Hi All,

Is it true that if you set flag 14 on the HP-41C with a card reader, that you can write to cards whose corners have been clipped to make them (by default) read-only?

That's what the manual says:

To write a program onto a protected track, simply set flag 14, the card reader Overwrite Flag, before you begin the writing operation. The Overwrite Flag remains set and allows you to write on protected tracks until the program writing operation is completed or terminated. Flag 14 is automatically cleared each time you turn the HP-41C on and when any reading or writing operation is completed or terminated.

Cheers, Steve
