Hp 97 Card Reader issues Message #1 Posted by Fouad M. Kaadou on 25 Nov 2011, 1:17 p.m. Hello, I have an HP97 with some card reader issues. -can not read or write on cards. -the reader pulls the cards very slowly I have bypassed the write protect by connecting the necessary pins on the card reader chip so i will be able to write and it worked. Also when i first received the calculator i attempted to fix the gummy wheel issue (which i did) , but the ribbon cable was totally destroyed so i had to solder the card reader the main PCB myself. Any ideas? TIA -Fouad

First you say the reader cannot read or write then you say it writes. If the unit does not pull the card through correctly, why not start there? Perhaps the worm screw is loose on the shaft or the wheel repair is not correct?
