Meg says they "objectively evaluated" the situation and it was.....gasp! Right for the customers too!

Obviously I am too less an insider to understand what this is all about, so please excuse my dumb questions:

Who or what is "PSG"? Who is Meg? Which situation was evalutated, and what was the result? Why is this "right for the customers too"? In which way is all this related to Tim's cartoon?

HP had announced to sell their Personal Systems Group to which the calculator division belongs. Meg Whitman is the new CEO who seems to have decided to go in a different direction.

Anyone who watches the National Geographic channel could have predicted this:

"The new alpha lioness chases the old one away from the pride and asserts her dominance by peeing on her predecessor's favorite places."

I've observed this behavior "in the wild" with all sorts of high level managers. As soon as they take over, they have to do something to show that they're, you know, all managerial and stuff. :)
