MySamBA execution level
Message #1 Posted by Masaki Adachi on 24 Oct 2011, 1:15 p.m.

FWIW when ran on my windows 64 bit install, MySamBA will not show available com ports unless the program is run as Administrator. Not sure if this is some seeting on my machine, but USB IO port controller that I use with my bitWhacker gizmo does not require this.

I cannot comment on this for various reasons (I'm running XP 32bit in Admin mode and I don't know the innards of the library used for the com port handling in MySamba).

But I have recently changed MySamba to allow the manual input of the com port. This might solve a Linux problem, too if it works at all. Please test!

It works. As long as one can guess a correct port number, that is.

Also, the new form's file selection box is rather long and pushes Browse button to far right, causing the form width to cut off the button. please check.

You can resize the Window to the right. I added this feature to allow seeing the complete file name of the binary file. But this looks strange when you have worked with the old version before because the stored width is just too small.

Is vertical scroll bar supposed to display on the form? Mine does.. My system locale is set to Japanese in order to allow non unicode Japanese application to display correctly. This sometimes confuse size calculation for application. see the screenshot here

No. I can only test on my XP box where it doesn't appear. I've added some more headroom around the borders.
