Ahem, these are color copies only, not original manuals...

I am assuming that the seller is actually violating copyright law?? Am I right or wrong Tim?

My guess is the seller bought the MOHP DVD and is just printing color copies. Regardless of the source, I agree with Namir's suggestion, the manuals likely represent illegal copies.

Ebay has not responded to any of my reports to that effect.

Allen (ebay:hudendai)

On a side note, except for the discussion, the original posting should probably be in the Classifieds section, not in the Forum.

(edit) Another interesting side note: a quick survey of the seller's other auctions shows he's netted north of $2500 selling (illegal) HP manual copies.

Also a reprint, most likely in violation of copyright.

And in violation of country of origin labeling since I doubt the reprints are actually being printed in Canada :-P

I have one here received as an eval copy, but I can't say I'm all that impressed. It is a reasonable reprint and appears to be of mohpc origin as AFAICT it has the same digitization artifacts. It is printed two pages to a physical US letter size page and subsequently cut in half which yields the footprint. But it would have been better IMHO if either the manual image was scaled to fit the full half page area or (preferably) each half page was cut down to actual printed area. The spiral binding though is a welcome feature.

Although admittedly I'm quite impressed with HP's decision to reauthor the Owner's and Advanced Functions Handbook. I hope the latter is forthcoming and doesn't get lost in the shuffle.
