Hits awful close to home!
Message #1 Posted by Dave Shaffer (Arizona) on 4 Aug 2011, 2:55 p.m.

Found THIS while wandering around the web.

An appalling number of these apply to me, and I suspect a lot of others here. In particular, about 40% of the way down is an explicit reference to our favorite type of calculator, and the last couple are relevant to anybody who has an HP-01.

I suspect the above link will be around only for today, so I have put a copy at my site where it will reside for a while.

A few weeks ago a friend sent me this:

The Knack

I agree, WAY too close to home!

Edit: Sorry wrong link. Now corrected...

Oh no. I am doomed.

I think this one has been around a while--"wristwatch" who wears them any longer? "450MHz Pentium"? So this dates to 1998? Still pretty much right on. Dilbert is still my hero!

I actually did something very similar to the following:

An engineer comes home after work one day and his wife greets him and asks "i need something from the store, but I'm busy and can't go just now - would you mind going for me?"

"No problem" he replies, "What do you need?"

"I need a gallon of milk. If they have eggs get six."

He goes marketing and returns home about 45 minutes later, carrying 6 gallons of milk.

"Why the hell did you get 6 gallons of milk?" his incredulous wife demands.

He replies in confusion "They had eggs!"
