Re: HP wants to hear your 12c stories... Message #9 Posted by Katie Wasserman on 21 July 2011, 11:21 p.m., in response to message #1 by Gene Wright
Should I tell the one where a 12C in my pocketbook took a bullet for me on the mean streets of New York? Nah, that's too boring...
How about this thrilling one that happened just yesterday....

I was having a discussion about the 12c with one of my clients. This was prompted by his annual forgetting of how to swap the radix and thousands separator symbols that accidentally happens from time-to-time when you use a 12C every day, all day. [We get this same question on the forum at least once a month, why doens't HP put this on the back-plate of the calculator.] He's been using a 12C for 25 years at work and at home, he loves it!
He then went on to tell me that when he was shopping for home mortgages with a broker he was able to stay several seconds ahead of the broker as far as affordability calculations were concerned. He was keying in the numbers on his 12C while the broker was using a desktop PC and waiting for a response. The broker had no idea how anyone could come up with results before the computer did. And this was with an original 12C, with a 12C+ (he doens't have one yet) he'd be several seconds faster still.
