Hi, I have a problem with my hp 41cx, when I try to set or clear a flag it returns : "nonexistent"

is this normal?

Hi;

if you are trying to set or clear any flag above 30, it is normal. These are system flags, you can only test them. The system sets or clears these flags when a particular condition (or command) is verified. E.g.: flag 55 is set when you connect an 82143A printer and cleared when you remove it. You can test it, though, to make sure if a printer is connected to the calculator while running a program with exclusive printer commands and avoid premature program halting.

Cheers.
