restoring an HP11C
Message #1 Posted by Alberto Fenini on 20 May 2010, 6:20 a.m.

ciao a tutti,

I'm in the process of restoring an HP11C just received.
The general conditions are fair, I'll post some pics later today.

However, the keyboard layout need some work, as some of the black background between the keys is ruined.

I was thinking to remove the keyboard faceplate, rather then opening the unit.

I have inserted a thin knife and it looks to me that is not much different from removing a classic back label.

Now to the most experts people the question is : Has everyone ever done it before ?
Do you have any idea of which kind of glue is keeping the faceplate attached to the unit ?

Thanks for help, and take care, Alberto
