Back to MLDL2000: I did it again...
Message #1 Posted by Vieira, Luiz C. (Brazil) on 24 Dec 2009, 2:13 p.m.

Hi, guys;

after a couple of hours of labor (a lot of criteria involved), I finally got to this:

Now I can set the CPLD power as I wish. The externally-accessible jumper connects to J7. In the above picture, the CPLD is powered in RUN and STANDBY mode (pins 2-3 connected). In order to run a CX configuration in a CV with no ROM installed, the jumper must be positioned to the right (pins 1-2 connected).

Well, it works! I always liked the CX functionality, did not care too much for the clock, but I miss the X-memory. I configured HEPAX 1D to page #6 and it worked fine so far, so I still have all four ports (eight pages) to work with and left address for the HPIL. The HEPAX RAM offers all X-memory functionality and some more, so I'll stick to it so far. The CX functionality now goes for the main memory extras. One of them I did not find anywhere but in the CX (I intend to add it somehow in a future ROM module) is showing the amount of bytes accupied by a program in the display while CAT 1 is running.

I documented all of the MLDL2000 operations (pictures). I'll add them to my photobucket later and then share them. I also took the time to add the small jumper which allows USB power line to charge the goldcap while the MLDL2000 is connected. Now I need no longer to open the MLDL2018A again (hope so...).

Cheers.

I forgot to save about 3000 lines of hand-written, old-timer programs already keyed in and stored in the SRAM through HEPAX... Lost them all <:-C

At least I'll leave it as a strong advice: SAVE WHATEVER IS STORED IN SRAM PRIOR TO MAINTAIN THE MLDL2000. Connect it to the computer and download the SRAM contents first.

Cheers...
