41Z Keyboard Overlay - The Final Cut
Message #1 Posted by 聲gel Martin on 13 Dec 2009, 12:30 p.m.

Here it is, intuitively obvious and easy to use :-)

Don't miss revision 9, already posted at TOS.

Enjoy.

I have just downloaded it and will try it out tonight.

Congrats again, ngel.

P.S. - Will the new 41Z have its own User Manual? The one available there is the same one from previous 41Z, with no mention to the new features and keeping the initial remark that the pack offers a humble two-level complex stack, etc...

Manuals are always the last component, right?

I actually plan on updating the older one (re-doing it really) - let's see if the xmas break allows some spare time for the task.

Until then... use your intuition!

:)

Hint: to access the RED functions... press "Z" twice.

I am not having any luck with the new 41Z on i41CX+. On startup I get a complex number printed on the printer. Varies based on the stack and registers would be my guess.

The blue Z does nothing but Sigma+. Is there something I need to execute to get started?

Thanks.

Hi Egan, yes you need to assign the function ZKBRD to the Sigma+ key - that enables the complex keyboard as per the overlay.

Printing the Z complex stack level is done by default on start-up. I don't have a printer and obviously neither does V41 but the behavior should be consistent. The rom works well in the real machine as well.

four complex stack levels are: U, V, W, Z (from top to bottom). Complex level Z corresponds with the real stack Y (Imaginary part) and X (real part). Note that real Z, T are just scratch, as they're not "reliable". All is done in the complex stach, in a dedicated memory buffer.

Best wishes
