I did that same repair on my late model (soldered) 34C about a year ago, except I used 3 separate small gauge wires (stuff that I just had in my tool box). I was barely able to get the case closed after the repair (the wires could have been a little smaller). It worked out OK though. The pictures you posted are excellent. Please, use the pictures as you wish. In fact, as you may have noticed, the pictures are actually images captured with a flatbed scanner.
