All We Wanted For Christmas....
Message #1 Posted by Joerg Woerner on 10 Aug 2009, 3:05 p.m.

Hi Calculator Aficionados,

I just received a small box from Canon (USA) and found a very, very interesting calculator inside:

At first glance it looks like their standard four-banger, maybe with solar cells, a memory or even an alarm clock. .

.

.

Guess again!

If you open it, a wonderful display - the crispest I ever recognized at a calculator - stares at you:

This new FN-600 allows you interactive, financial calculations and sports even a clock and calendar and performs days-between-dates calculations with ease:

I'm impressed!

And it sold for just $19.95 including free shipment...

Regards, Joerg

Joerg, that's pretty cool. It reminds me of the Casio 9860g-slim. I'll have to order one. If it only had programming....

hey Joerg;

That screen is crisp and it's one of those alpha on the top / numeric on the bottom screens like the 20b.

But does that enter key work?

I wonder why they forgot to translate "BATTERY" :)

Btw. putting a little switch in there would be a very nice way to confuse workmates...

Joerg, I ordered it a couple of days ago and it arrived today. That is one cool little gadget! It "defines" shirt pocketability: 4" x 3" x .5".

If you're the kind of person (and I think that there are a lot of them out there) who just wants to know what the monthly payment on your new car will be, having traded in your "clunker," or you want to know what your CD will be worth in 2 years, this calc was made for you. You don't have to know and/or understand the mechanics of TVM or BEG/END modes. And its display is second to none.

I think the free shipping and $10 off expire at the end of today, however.
