HP 46080A HP-IL Extension module

How and where used HP 46080A HP-IL Extension module and there is documentation on it?

The HP 46080A is not an HP-IL extension module; it is an HP-HIL extension module. HP-IL and HP-HIL are two entirely different things. HP-HIL was mainly used to hook up keyboards, mice, and other relatively low-speed I/O devices to HP's "big computers" like the HP 9000 systems. HP-HIL is similar in purpose to low-speed or full-speed USB, though completely different in details.
