|OT: Build your own book scanner from trash & cheap cameras|
Message #1 Posted by Marcus von Cube, Germany on 21 Apr 2009, 12:55 p.m.
From the TRS-80 Model 100 mailing list:
This device could ease scanning of manuals and enhance the quality of the scans considerably. I've recently scanned a Casio Fp-200 manual with my standard flatbed scanner (an all in one Brother laser printer): It took hours and the result is far from optimal.
This might be OT, but really isn't. We've had several discussion flurries about scanning in documentation that is rare or one-of-a-kind for our old laptops. If we have a handy-dandy MAKER in the group or many of them, this scanner might be the answer. Good luck and let us all know the results of your efforts. The author wants input from you, too, if you build one.
