OT: Build your own book scanner from trash & cheap cameras

This device could ease scanning of manuals and enhance the quality of the scans considerably. I've recently scanned a Casio Fp-200 manual with my standard flatbed scanner (an all in one Brother laser printer): It took hours and the result is far from optimal.
