HP Manual Scans for DVD Version 7
Message #1 Posted by Allen on 17 Jan 2009, 12:44 p.m.

I have a number of manuals in my collection that are not yet on DVD for the museum. I would like to scan a few more, but may not have time for all of them, so I wanted to take a poll on which ones would be more valuable so I can focus on them first.

  1. 14b Business Student Applications b/w pp125
  2. 18c Business Finance Consultant color or b/w pp60
  3. 18c Real Estate Consultant color or b/w pp60
  4. 18c Marketing Consultant color or b/w pp60
  5. 18c Banking Consultant color or b/w pp60
  6. 18c Direct Sales Consultant color or b/w pp60
  7. 18c Manufacturing Consultant color or b/w pp60
  8. 18c Personal Investment Consultant color or b/w pp60
  9. 18c Small Business Consultant color or b/w pp60
  10. 17b 19b 27s Personal Investment and Tax Planning b/w pp205
  11. 22s Science Student Applications b/w pp160
  12. 32s Benutzerhandbuch (handbook) in GERMAN b/w pp300
  13. 41c Statistik-Paket in GERMAN color pp74
  14. 41c/cv Handleiding (handbook) in DUTCH color pp250

If there is any interest in having these on the next DVD, can you kindly let me know a sorted order for the ones that are of interest to the community. I will work to that order, time permitting. I've included estimated page counts since that will factor in to my decision as well. For b/w I can do around 2ppm, for color it is around 1ppm or longer depending on the shortest dimension of the book.

Allen,

I'm very much looking out for anything which increases the usefulness of my 200LX's (and the 17bII+)- they are my workhorses still - so I'm not so much interested in the 48xx/49xx/50G stuff (at least for now).

Thx. for your contributions!

Peter A. Gebhardt

PS: Could you calculate pricing for the printed manuals, we've talked about? (pls. PM)

Please count my vote for

22s Science Student Applications b/w pp160
41c Statistik-Paket in GERMAN color pp74

- the 2nd with lower priority. TIA

OK, I just sent in the 22S Science Student applications. It is a hard to find book-- I have only seen one or two come up for sale. Mine was new in the wrapper. Once opened, it became a fully bookmarked, OCR, and optimized e-publication.

Here's a preview:

Allen,

Thanks for doing it this way, especially since it's such a rare item. Though I learned this "student" is pre-university again. That's an ambiguity in the English language driving me nuts :-(

I'm not really sure where this fits in the education time line. Some of the topics under Chemistry are advanced High school, some under the Calculus are early University.

For example there is one section called: "Transformation of Multiple Integrals": Sometimes a change of coordinate systems can make evaluation of a multiple integral easier. This is done as follows:

[[figures removed by OCR]]

This determinant is called the Jacobian of the transformation. Notice that the absolute value of the Jacobian is used in the transformation. Some frequently used transformation results are given below. Rectangular to Polar Coordinates......

I would like to see 1-11 with 11, 1, 10 being my top picks.

OK, the

17b 19b 27s Personal Investment and Tax Planning b/w pp205
is sent in to the museum by popular demand. This should be a complete addition of all of the 17b related software manuals that HP made. Excellent. More as time and wife allows.
