iPod Touch/iPhone HP Emulators/Simulators
Message #1 Posted by Kevin Kitts on 23 Dec 2008, 10:39 a.m.

Hi Everyone, I have an iPod Touch 2nd gen. on order and I'm planning to put some HP Calculator emulators on it once it arrives. I've checked out the iTunes App Store and see that for some models like the 12c it is available from multiple vendors.

My question is... What is the "best of the best" when it comes to iPod emulators/simulators for the following models?:

11c, 12c, 15c, 16c, 41cx and 42s.

If there is an option between a $20 emulator and another that is free - I'd prefer the one that is "best" - highest quality in operation and aesthetics - as opposed to one that "seems ok" but is free.

Thanks!

Get Eric's/Tom's 12C, 15C, 16C (no need for 11C).

Get i41CX+ (the plus version has printer support).

Get Free42 when available.

For daily use I use i41CX+, the Voyagers are nice to haves for certain circumstances. Free42 could change that.

Just my $0.02.

another cent's worth of info - I have the exact same set-up and love it and use it all the time (I work in a bank - at least for now - and use the 12C)

Cheers

I own the $20 15c emulator, and currently have the Crimson Research 11c, 12c, 15c, and 16c on my iPhone.

The only difference between the two 15c versions is the $20 version can display what is on the back of an actual 15c, and it has two keyboard skins. One with buttons identically sized as the Crimson Research 15c, and one with slightly larger software buttons, supposedly for easier key entry. Both skins and the Crimson Research skin are easy to use.

The buttons of the SCI-11C, FIN-12C, SCI-15C, and PRG-16C are larger than they appear on the display, so they are actually very easy to use.
