Changed Batteries: Now the display looks weird
Message #1 Posted by mel on 15 Sept 2006, 1:16 a.m.

I just changed the batteries in my 11c and now the display reads: 0. on the far left of the screen and 00 on the far right of the screen. It will not do basic math. Please help. I have had this calculator since about 1986, and I have never done anything more complicated than basic math much to my brother's dismay. However, I would like to continue to use it to balance my checkbook.

I think that the calc is in "SCI 0" or "ENG 0" display mode -- scientific notation and no significant digits after the decimal point.

Try "f FIX 5" to get a conventional display and fix decimal digits. "f FIX 2" will give two decimal digits for display of monetary values.

Thank you, it's working like a charm.
