HP Trivia

I was somewhat surprised the other day to find out that of the nine HP calcs I own, the HP-33S does not have the brand name "Hewlett.Packard" anywhere on it!

Yes, I've noticed that too. In the old days, HP was proud to spell out the name on their fine machines.
These days...well...

Just like others, IBM, AT&T,..., they have gone the acronym route. Less syllables.

Since the battle over the Compaq merger, in which board member David Packard vehemently opposed the merger, they've been repositioning themselves as just "HP", downplaying the names of the founders.
