Help: HP 22S doesn't turn on

I was wondering if anyone knew some possible reasons why an HP22S would not turn on. New batteries were used, by the way.
I opened up the calculator (turns out it can be done almost the same way as opening the HP48) and could not find any visible causes for why the HP22S would not turn on. All the traces appear to be corrosion free, and the LCD/keyboard contacts were cleaned just to be sure.
Any guesses?
