So...damage is good now?
Message #1 Posted by Frank Wales on 5 June 2006, 11:34 a.m.

Today's comedy eBay description, which attempts to spin damage from a leaking battery as a benefit:

Quote:
Hp had a leakage in the battery compartment which is common among this type of calculators, it makes this hp even more interesting and original,

Just like my face is more interesting and original because of all the broken bones in it, eh?

For electronics this is a load of bull. If you want to see the extreme end of wear increasing value look at stringed instruments. It is a widely held belief that regular use over the course of at least 30 years "seasons" a stringed instrument. In reality, they likely would benefit acoustically from sitting in their cases for the same length of time.

That's my tangent for today.

Regards, Hugh
