Dead 15C needs help
Message #1 Posted by PeterP on 10 Apr 2006, 9:02 p.m.

Hi,

I recently got a broken 15c and I'm wondering if this marvellous gem can be revived with the trusted help of this forum. Basically, once batteries are installed, the thing does not turn on. No beep, so sound, no sign, no nothing. It simply is dead.

I have made pictures of its interior as well as the serial number which can be found here

Any ideas and help will be highly appreciated!

Cheers

Peter --

The procedure for Voyagers is listed on p. 263 of the manual, "Verifying Proper Operation (Self-Tests)":

For a calculator that does not respond to keystrokes despite having good batteries installed correctly, try these steps in order:

1. Press yx and ON simultaneously, then release.

2. Remove and re-insert batteries.

3. Leave the batteries in the compartment and briefly short-circuit the battery terminals together.
